World History | Results of European Imperialism | Creative Student Project

This is a great project (ready to print and use) for your students to complete following a unit on European Imperialism.

This Brochure style project requires students to use the internet and/or classroom texts to research the long-term effects/results of imperialism on the country assigned. (i.e. Ghana, India, Zimbabwe etc.) Once students have done their research they create a brochure illustrating their findings!

Student research is guided by specific student directions for each section of their brochure. Students then record their findings on their pre-printed "fill in the blank" brochure! Creativity and color encouraged!

Students will research these topics for their assigned country:

• Location of country being researched (map)

• Geographical features

• Flag of country

• Climate/natural resources/trade

• Major traditions/ religious beliefs of country/ population/GDP etc.

• Summary of country under European rule (Imperialism)

• Results of Imperial rule (i.e. treatment of natives, effects etc.)

• Independence movement

• Explanation of the current effects of imperialism on the country/current problems

• Illustrated timeline of major events of country (related to Imperial rule and independence)
